AUSTIN, TX— Visit Austin announces Norwegian is continuing its expansion in the U.S. with the launch of the UK’s first low fare route to Austin, Texas. Starting today, the new three weekly non-stop service will be between Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) and London Gatwick Airport (LGW).

In celebration of the inaugural flight, passengers experienced the sounds of Austin on the maiden voyage. The Live Music Capital of the World® is famed for its live music and to celebrate the first flight from London Gatwick to Austin, passengers enjoyed a live performance from local Austin musician, Julian Acosta, on the ground and in the skies before landing in Austin.

The addition of this route is also a direct reflection of how our city continues to evolve as a premier destination for travelers.”

The new route from London Gatwick to Austin will be operated by new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft offering passengers a spacious, modern economy cabin with seatback inflight entertainment, together with a Premium cabin offering more legroom, complimentary meal service, generous baggage allowance and airport lounge access.
