Almost new Embraer jets replace Fokker aircraft: greater traveling comfort for passengers
Another Embraer aircraft in the Austrian Airlines fleet with the registration number OE-LWL took off on its initial flight OS 311 from Vienna to Stockholm today morning. The Embraer aircraft is the seventh out of a total of 17 Embraer jets which Austrian Airlines will integrate into its fleet by the end of 2017. As planned, the fleet renewal program is progressing well. Since the inaugural flight on January 4, 2016 every month another Embraer Jet was taken into operations in the Austrian Airlines fleet.
Austrian Airlines offers a virtual tour in the Embraer cabin via the following link: http://www.austrian.com/embraer360. The Embraer jets consume about 18 percent less fuel per aircraft seat than the Fokker, and are thus much more environmentally compatible. The fleet renewal program also enhances travel comfort: The cabin equipped with a two-by-two-seating is particularly spacious thanks to its ergonomic design, thus offering passengers a feeling of enjoying more space. The Embraer jets have an average age of four years, providing room for 120 passengers. The list price of an Embraer jet is about USD 52 million.
