Moscow, 15 December 2016 – JSC Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC), SuperJet International (SJI) and the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) signed a contract for the delivery of another Sukhoi Business Jet (SBJ). This aircraft represents the third SBJ, that will join the fleet of the Royal Air Force of Thailand in 2018.
The deal confirms the steady cooperation between SCAC and RTAF, that began in September 2014.
RTAF received two SBJ under the previous contract in July 2016. The previous SBJs for RTAF fleet have three areas: 4-seat VIP area, 6-seat business area, and standard area accommodating 50 passengers.
The third aircraft will be delivered in a two-cabin layout with common zone for VIP and business class and will have greater capacity – up to 73 passengers, including 4 VIP passengers. It will be equipped with the latest passenger comfort systems, including various types of communication and the Inflight-Entertainment multimedia system. Its operating range is more than 4500 km.
The SBJ, including the interior, is built and assembled at the production plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur (Russia). SCAC will also provide the after-sales support on site in Thailand. Crews’ education and training will be held at SuperJet International’s training center in Venice. The aircraft is scheduled to be delivered in 2018.
To date, SCAC has delivered 111 aircraft to several customers in Russia, Central Europe, Central America and Southeast Asia. Eight of them are the aircraft in the business configuration (Sukhoi Business Jet) and jets with special purposes (air hospital for EMERCOM, for border aviation regiment).
Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100)
Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) is a new-generation regional jet, designed and developed by JSC Sukhoi Civil Aircraft with participation of Leonardo-Finmeccanica Company. The aircraft features the most advanced technologies in aerodynamics, power plant and avionics providing operational efficiency and passengers’ comfort. SSJ100 is designed to carry passengers as short-haul and medium-haul routes. The operating range for the basic version is 3,048 km and 4,578 km for the long range version. The aircraft are been operated since 2011.
Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company
JSC Sukhoi Civil Aircraft was founded in 2000 to develop new models of commercial aircraft. Today, the company’s main project is the program for creation and development of Sukhoi Superjet 100. The company’s shareholders are Company Sukhoi and the Italian Leonardo-Finmeccanica Company. The main areas of the company are the development, certification and production of civil aircraft, as well as related marketing, sales and after-sales. The company is head-quartered in Moscow; the aircraft are assembled at the production site in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
SuperJet International
SuperJet International, a joint venture between Leonardo-Finmeccanica Company and Sukhoi Holding, is in charge of the marketing, sales, customization and delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet in Europe, the Americas, Oceania, Africa and Japan. The Company is also responsible for training and worldwide after-sales support. Given the international nature of the program, SuperJet International has established two Training Centers based in Venice and in Moscow. SuperJet International’s assistance is provided through SJI’s Customer Care Center, based in Venice (Italy), in “request-response” mode, in close coordination with SCAC. SJI logistics strategy for spare parts distribution is based on the centrality of its warehouse, located at the International Airport of Frankfurt (Germany), and managed by Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services, and complemented by its warehouses in Moscow and Zhukovsky (Russian Federation), and Fort Lauderdale (U.S.A.).
